Having always been drawn to the world of children, Bénédicte Carboneill, aka Carbone, made the logical choice when it came time to decide on a profession, becoming a teacher. After joining the teaching ranks in 1995, she would go on to become principal before writing entered her life and quickly took over. Starting with publications on education ("La Classe Maternelle, " Jocatop/Bordas), she soon developed her own publishing house, Pas de l'échelle, which brought together comics and education.
Editor and author, Bénédicte began writing for young children and teenagers, including books published by various French-language publishers (Fleurus, Larousse, Mijade). In 2015, she tried her hand as a comics author with "Le Pass'Temps" (published by Jungle), taking on the pen name Carbone. She soon followed with "La boîte à musique" (Dupuis; "The Music Box, " Europe Comics), with Gijé, a hit adventure story that has already led to two more series with the same publisher: "Les Zindics anonymes" ("Snitches Anonymous, " Europe Comics) and "Dans les yeux de Lya" (Europe Comics 2019).
Véronique Barrau is an author who loves nature, fairies, and folklore.
During the first 20 years of her life, spent in the Tarn region of France, she avidly explored the mountains and forests, hoping to stumble upon the innocent face of a fairy. Legend doesn't say if she did or not... but what's for sure is that her interest in magic grew, and has never left her. Since then, she has written several books for young and old readers alike, dealing with legend, folklore, enchantments, and fantastical creatures of all kinds.
In 2021, she launched the comics series "La Sentinelle du petit peuple" with Dupuis ("The Keeper of the Little Folk, " Europe Comics 2021), co-written with Carbone and drawn by Charline Forns. It seems as though Véronique has just only begun to captivate us...
Born in 1991, Charline Forns quickly discovered a strong interest in horses and drawing, the latter of which was the subject of her studies in Nantes.
Since graduation, she has worked as an artist with Fanny Ruelle on a series of novels about horses called "Mes amis les chevaux, " and has worked as a colorist on the comics series "Les Arcanes de la lune noire" ("The Black Moon Arcana"), published by Dargaud/Europe Comics. At the same time, she continues to accept private commissions of various kinds, and in 2021 she launched the children's series "La Sentinelle du petit peuple" with publisher Dupuis (co-written by Véronique Barrau and Carbone, published in English in 2021 by Europe Comics under the title "The Keeper of the Little Folk").
