Résumé

The Way of the Roses is one of the best long-distance cycle routes in the UK, and is a suitable challenge for cyclists of all abilities, usually taking between two and five days. The 170 mile (274km) route uses country lanes and cycle paths leading from the west coast at Morecambe accross the red and white rose countries of Lancashire and Yorkshire, passing through Lancaster, Settle, Pateley Bridge, Ripon and York, to finally reach the east coast at Bridlington.
RThe route visits the region's national parks and AONB's, passing castles, cathedrals and abbeys, prehistoric standing stones and natural phenomena such as Brimham Rocks and Flamborough Head cliffs. For anyone who loves cycling, this is a route that should not be missed.
