Weyward is the account of three women with similar stories who live in different time periods but are bound together by their wonderful connection to the natural world.
This page-turner is a beautiful blend of historical and contemporary themes and reveals that there is a bit of Weyward women in all
of us.
A touching, poetic novel full of emotions ! The story of Betty, a young Amerindian, and her family in the 1960’s will move you deeply so much that you’ll never forget them ! Brilliant !
Beautiful portrait of an unknown and unpopular goddess, but full of bravery and conviction!
A fictional view in Greek mythology!
Incontournable !
Emily Henry writes the type of book where you find the perfect sappy romance you're looking for. She knows very well how to depict feelings, relatable relationships, the good and the bad, and Happy Place is all of it.
Another wonderfully engaging portrait of England from Jonathan Coe, this time running from the end of World War II to the Covid-19 pandemic. The author has written a companion piece to "Middle England", in which he is asking how the country has ended up where it is and what may have caused it.
Moving,
thought-provoking and wise, this is Coe at his best !
Based on the real dancing plagues throughout the XVIth century, The dance tree is such a fascinating piece of history. Kiran Millwood Hargrave's writing is as incredible as ever. With every sentence, you get lured into these women's lives: their worries, insecurities, friendships, fears and sexuality, at a time when religion is characterised by domination and oppression rather than enlightenment. I loved the story of these courageous women pushing the bounderies to survive in dangerous times.
A solid start to an addictive fantasy saga.
Feyre Archeron is hunting in the woods, trying to provide for her starving family, when she kills an enigmatic looking wolf. By Treaty Laws, she must surrender her life to Prythian, the magical land where Faeries live, for the Fae she killed.
Dive into
this fantasy world where everything is not as it appears to be. The first book is only the beginning of a tangled relationship between every character and you are not going to be able to put down this saga before it all makes sense. At least I couldn't.

Magistral.
You could be Eileen or Alice, you could be Simon or Felix but I'm sure that at least one of them will speak to you... We follow the four friends in all their adventures, love, sexe, friendship, work, they are real and their feelings rough. Sally Rooney really is the novelist of a generation in doubt with what will be the futur, of the world, of the civilisation, our futur. We're in quest of a beautiful world...
Maybe one of the most wholesome book I've ever read. Heartstopper is such a sweet graphic novel about two boys who fall in love with each other and deal with discovering their sexuality, but it is also a novel about friendship and what goes through your head when you're a teenager. I think anyone can relate to at least one of the character, and Alice Oseman truly did an incredible job depicting all sorts of emotions.
Jude and her sisters, the three of them mortals, find themselves captured and brought to Faerie, a world where all sorts of creatures live. Their journey begins, trying to fit in this world full of mysteries. But many of the creatures living there hate humans. And Jude is not going to let them prevent her from becoming exactly who she wants to be. Especially not Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King of Faerie.
A well deserved second Pulitzer prize for Colson Whitehead delivering with The Nickel Boys, a moving novel about segregation in the sixties. The author's writing gives depth to the book and the way the subject is treated is impeccable.
A must-read !
I'm not so sure that Eleonor Oliphant is really that fine but she's one of the most touching literature protagonist that I ever met in a book !
She's just enough weird, funny and lost so anyone can relate to her story and wish to become her friend. It's quite obvious right now, I had a big crush on
Eleonor and on this book where you can cry and laugh on the same page.
It is always a pleasure to comeback to Nick's and Charlie's life and their close cercle.
Tender, realistic whilst tackling serious subject matters which affects Young adults nowadays.
A fierce start to a trilogy where young girls who are deemed impur are sent to be trained as future soldier for the emporor.
Epic, full of girl power and magic.
Trevor Noah gives us in his memoir a funny yet poignant and heartbreaking account of his grownup a crime. He invite us into his early life in South Africa until his début as the well known comedian that he is today in the US. However, his book is also a powerful ode to his mother, grandmother those women you were his pillar and gave him the strenght to pursuit his dreams.

This was an absolute masterpiece!
Welcome to Shaker Heights, where everything is in order, families, houses, schools, social life. The majority of the population in Shaker Heights is white and wealthy. Everything is going well in the best of worlds.
Then, one day, Mia the mysterious nomad artist,

Masterfully built, Celeste NG has the talent to bring to life any character whether minor or important to the story. Her descriptions are vibrant with life in its most beautiful and ugly aspect.
Read it, savour it.

On a September evening in 1785, one of Hancock's captains has come to find him with a treasure, a wonder for which he sold one of his vessels. Words spread fast that the merchant Jonah Hancock got himself a mermaid. This mermaid will open for him all the doors of London and the most mundane festivities
which had been closed to him until now.
In one of those parties, Hancock will meet Angelica Neal making two complete opposite clashes against one another.
Beware of your ambitions, your most intimate desires, your longing because they do not always lead to a better place.
I loved Queenie and wanted the best for her despite all the infuriating and bad decisions she kept taking.
I loved how her friends and family were such an important part of her life and the relationship felt very real.
I would recommend it very much.
Mila is used to being alone, so alone that loneliness seems to be rooted in her. That is why when she's offered a position on a remote farm to teach small children, she says yes. There is nothing to hold her back here, nothing for here but going forward.
What she will find on this farm, with the people
inhabiting that farm is something she never thought she could have in her life, something she did not think she deserved. However, this place will also confront her with her painful past.
As always, Nina Lacour brings her a very lyrical and atmospheric story.
A lovely picture book about nature being an inspiration and brightening our lives.
Sylvia Plath's most emblematic work of fiction based on her personal struggle with chronic depression which will lead to a suicide attempt.
In her lyrical writing, she shares with the reader her experience, her encounter, and what will trigger her suicide attempt.
A powerful read.
A wonderful little story full of wonder which will take the little ones on a lovely journey through nature changing season.
In this little essay collection, you have fifteen suggestions of how to do so.
Direct, well-written, and a good place to start.
A fantastic book well researched and fully fleshed about all the issues such as housing, gun violence, hunger, access to stable jobs which have been forgotten from White Feminists writing over the years.
Her book was incredibly inclusive, fluid, informative as well-written, and well crafted.
I would
highly recommend it to everyone.
In this classic piece of children's literature, we follow the very hungry caterpillar on his journey to fill his belly.
Perfect for children with its interactive pages to keep them busy whilst reading the story!
This little picture book is absolutely perfect your all the children out there as well as the adults who still cherish the inner child in themselves and love Autumn.
Twin sisters, they have always been inseparable until their paths take opposite direction. One will choose to pass for one White and the other will choose to come back in the small town she vowed to never set foot again on.
For her second novel, Brit Bennet explores powerful themes such as colorism
within the Black community, passing, motherhood, sisterhood, family link as well as family secrets.
Upon finishing this book, it will stay with you for a long time.
A quiet book that will interlink Nadia, Luke, and Aubrey from teenagehood to adulthood.
For her first book, she explores throughout the novel how the choices we make shape us, root us. They can be your driving force as well as what's stopping you from moving on and creating a future away from your
ghost.
Tiff and Leon share a bed but have never met...
Leon is a palliative nurse working nights and he needs money. Tiff works during the day at a publishing house and needs a place to stay very quickly. So this solution seems the most practical to them although everyone thinks it's crazy and bizarre.
As
the story unfolds we see them get to know each other through Post-it and they will develop a bond stronger than they ever thought possible.
This book was such an amazing discovery and delight to read. Full of life, humor, realness by tackling heavy themes which I presumed could not be present in a romance story. I am happy to have been proven wrong.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book which will have you addicted in no time, chuckling and tearing up in no time!
