From the  beginning of time women have encountered some obstacles that are based primarily on their sex.  Some are caused by societal norms, others are caused by biological influences.  How a woman faces these obstacles when they arise will influence the remainder of her life and will shape history for those who come after her.  Rather than railing about the perceived injustices  that women face, it is important to recognize the impact and be mindful of how a simple helping hand can often transform a seemingly impossible situation into a solution.
  It further encourages women to create a sisterhood that recognizes when a woman has reached her tipping point and gives each woman a place to turn when everything around her is turning to dust.   This book is a series of 18 stand alone vignettes about some of the circumstances in which women find themselves and how they resolve it when it occurs.  Their solutions are many times dictated by their available choices which are often few or nonexistent.
 It is then that having someone reach out a hand can become life-saving in addition to life-changing.  This book is intended to raise awareness about the struggles that women face every day and encourage others to reach out so a woman has choices to which she can turn when no longer able to cope alone.
