Résumé

With the river, I find an old prediction.- A River's RuseFour Short Stories about novice writers and the self-incitements of creativity. Not previously published, these four short stories were first written more than a decade ago. The beginning of an interconnected collection of short stories, the title story features a nameless man -- a recurring protagonist of the storylines -- foretelling his own death while reading the facts of an unrelated newspaper article, and in another the penalties of actions are explored when trying to escape the inevitable.** I departed the world questing of answers for it, witnessing all that is witnessed being exactly what it is with statuesque certainty.
I had enough of finding explanation in everything. Everything required constant interpretation and time-consuming deliberation like reading from a book, while it is reality and deeply ingrained, nothing like a book. ** The stories were a reminder, during the process of reclaiming, revising with faithfulness and editing the unlost pages: regardless of consequence, writers will write anyway. These short stories, tracing the beginning to an originally anticipated novel of short stories, forgotten and unread for over a decade, were never intended to be published. ** It became increasingly difficult to differentiate between real and unreal, not in his mind, but in the physical world.
He could no longer call it the real world. "Something is wrong with it." ** Book Description Tags: literary (general fiction), short stories, psychological, time, humor, adventurous, experimental, suspense, and a bit of horror. Author Description Tags (of book): Atypical, Dystopian, Mysterious, Evocative, Affecting.
