Résumé

"Angels of the Dark and the Light" continues the story of Aaron Grayman and the Passur Cleric family in 1801. After flooding the Capitol Dome to paralyze the government, Elder Pieter Lomanov has perished in his attempt to kill Aaron, his wife Nacetti, and their fiancé, Shana Annavan. Arriving safely in Yucanna Dome, the family is taken to a massive structure - the Citadel, the religious center of the Atlantean Republic.
Built high over the Dome's south side, for hundreds of years, it has been the home of the Six High Priestesses and the Cleric Capital for the Rödd. They begin new lives while continuing their planned rescue of Shana's twin sister Lana from an assassin. Both are on the asteroid miner Nile Delta and out of normal communication with Earth on the far side of the sun. Nassetti's cousin, Haägar Sola, Captain of the new runabout Fullt Tungl, is sent on a dangerous, never-before-attempted rescue of Lana.
If it fails, it will leave her stranded to die in the cold void. However, her assassin, Vicereine Fastell, has not been there willingly. She has become Lana's lover yet faces death if she fails to complete her mission. Moreover, she holds a secret within her body of one of the most depraved crimes of Lomanov's Cabal. Vaalkáis Kyy, Lomanov's protégé who delivered Fastell to him for his plot, has miraculously escaped the sinking mini-submarine in which he perished.
But, trapped for over a day in the tiny escape pod caught in a hurricane, she is seriously injured and marooned on a small island. There, she faces her own personal horrors worse than any she before imagined. Kyy's efforts to save herself have placed Admiral Lisil Pacella and the crew of the Blackship Defender in danger of being sunk by any Atlantean Blackship they encounter. In a desperate race against time and events, they must find her to save themselves.
It will then allow Pacella to recover data she saved before the Atlantean Archives were destroyed; the only means to prevent the overthrow of Atlanteas by Lomanov's angry and vengeful former protégé, now known as the Asian-Atlantean Empress Shakti Kappas. The action and danger ratchet up in volume 3 of the Archives of Atlanteas.

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Tom Ray

ABOUT THE AUTHORTom Ray, a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, harbors a life-long fascination with aviation, technology, and science, voraciously reading works of Wells, Verne, Clarke, and Heinlein as a child. By 14, he was flying model rockets, learning to program on IBM mainframes, and taking flying lessons. His creativity and innovative spirit led to writing stories for his friends' amusement and a humor column in his school newspaper.
Entering college, he initially majored in journalism at North Carolina State University; however, he found his forte and a steady income in engineering and technology. Retiring in 2010, he rediscovered his passion for creating science fiction and storytelling. Details matter to Tom; his creed is simple and true, "Small things matter; they cause great things." He spends hours researching and testing concepts, even using the "Kerbal Space Program®" to test the spacecraft in his storytelling, employing science rather than magic to make his novels more exciting.
He also draws on his experience in nuclear power, research centers, laboratories, and two decades of IT management, allowing him to see first-hand the impacts of technology on society. Combining his research and experience, he developed a blueprint for crafting a story out of time; initially, a 3000-page manuscript now broken into novels, "The Archives of Atlanteas" series introduces the hidden nation of Atlanteas and the family connections between Aaron Grayman, the Rödd religion of Atlanteas, and the century-old Shadow Guardians secret police who the Rödd have been in conflict with for decades.
The story goes deeper, examining faith, hope, manipulation, morals, and loss, questioning traditional values of morality and what makes life. The Atlantean civilization confronts many aspects of life in the present during two centuries in the past in an action adventure. Each aspect of the series is a creation of reality and imagination, with a bit of actual science.
