Résumé

The title says lots, but doesn't say it all. When you read that aphids can drain a rosebush and stink bugs can ruin a vacuum cleaner, you'll learn about Bug Juice! This book profiles several true bugs (aphids, cicadas, water bugs, chinch bugs, stink bugs, assassin bugs, and hoppers) and a few other insects that also suck juices from plants or animals for their food. Each of these insects also do an interesting biological function, such as some aphids are farmed by ants. Bug Juice is a book for young children to read with their families.
Each pair of pages has a science fact about insects and a simple sentence of explanation. At the end is a list of website URLS for more information on these insect facts. Reading books on topics of high interest is a good way to become a child's cool uncle or favourite aunt. Older children might read this book to younger children with glee. If your young reader likes bugs and insects, it's time to bring a little science to creepy-crawlies.
