Résumé

On April 5th, 1514, a mysterious noblewoman leaves a newborn bearing only an unusual golden necklace at the gates of the Château du Clos Lucé in Amboise, France. Named "Cinq Avril" by the cooks who care for him, and taken under the wing of another resident of the castle, a certain Leonardo da Vinci, the child grows in energy and knowledge as he's instructed in a multitude of secrets. When his mentor dies, the young man discovers a posthumous letter explaining that he has the power to change the course of history if he can unravel the enigma of his birth.

À propos des auteurs

Michel Bussi was born in France in 1965. He was a geography professor at the University of Rouen before publishing his first novel in 2006 ("Code Lupin"), and is now one of the most widely read French authors, most notably for his crime novels. In 2011 he published the award-winning mystery "Nymphéas noirs, " adapted as a graphic novel in 2019 by Fred Duval and Didier Cassegrain (Dupuis; "Black Water Lilies, " Europe Comics).
His books have been translated in dozens of languages around the world. In 2022, he teamed up with Fred Duval and Noë Monin to create "Cinq Avril" (Dupuis; Europe Comics), a new series set during the Renaissance. Born in 1965 in Rouen, France, Frédéric Duval first studied history. He completed his master's degree by studying the caricatures of a newspaper during the Dreyfus Affair. He published his first book, "500 fusils, " in 1995.
In 2008, for comics publisher Delcourt, he published the science fiction series "Meteors, " illustrated by Philippe Ogaki, before tackling an old dream with illustrator Zanzim: to adapt "Tartuffe" as a graphic novel. In 2010, he then published the first volume of the speculative fiction series "Nico" (Dargaud), alongside Philippe Berthet. In 2016, he wrote the tenth volume of "XIII Mystery" (Dargaud; Europe Comics/Cinebook in English), under the direction of Jean Van Hamme.
The year 2018 marked the release of his latest science fiction series, "Renaissance" (Dargaud; Europe Comics in English), alongside Emem and Fred Blanchard. His most recent work is the masterful literary adaptation "Nymphéas Noirs" (Dupuis; "Black Water Lilies, " Europe Comics), illustrated by Didier Cassegrain. In 2022, he teamed up with Michel Bussi and Noë Monin to create "Cinq Avril" (Dupuis; Europe Comics), a series set during the Renaissance.
In 2023, he started working on "NeoForest" (Dargaud; Europe Comics), a new sci-fi series with Philippe Scoffoni. Noë Monin is a French illustrator born on April 19, 1983. He spent his childhood in Finistère, Brittany. Fascinated by comics from an early age, he started attending classes run by Gwen Le Rest at the age of 11, thereby gaining valuable insight into the work of Fournier and Janry, and later Loisel and Toriyama, who were to become his main influences, along with Glen Keane and Otomo.
After graduating with an Arts degree from the University of Rennes, Carabas published his first album, "Venezia, " written by Laurent Koffel. He tried his hand at the manga format with "Yodji, " before returning to the Franco-Belgian comic format with adaptations of animated series such as "Baskup Tony Parker" and " The Jungle Book." His hybrid and dynamic drawing style also allowed him to work in the field of video games, at Riot Games, Ankama, and Acute Games.
In 2016, he returned to comics with his first complete series "Les Lames d'Âpretagne, " published by Casterman--a fantasy series adapted from his webcomic "Holà Tavernier, " which he had been working on since 2011 with Luc Venries and Yoann Courric. After working with Le Lombard, on the adaptation of "Marblegen, " Dupuis asked him to illustrate "Cinq Avril", the first original series by Michel Bussi, co-written by Fred Duval.
Adventures, history, capes, and swords, this series allows the Breton artist to fully express his narrative vision with multiple influences.
