Résumé

D'Artagnan, a young man, finds himself in a chaotic game with four Musketeers. He fights with a naked blade, causing laughter from spectators and players. The defender inflicts minor injuries on others, earning three turns of favor. The courage of the four fencers shocks D'Artagnan, who imagines himself in the fabled land of giants. D'Artagnan's admiration for the cardinal was shattered in the antechamber, as he heard about his private life and policies. He feared being held as an accomplice, as his father had instilled respect for him.
D'Artagnan, a compatriot, tries to praise unusual events, but is sceptical about the source of the baldric. A Musketeer, Porthos, claims it was given to him by a veiled lady, but skepticism persists. The second Musketeer, named Aramis, is a strong child with red cheeks and a dark eye. He claims to have met Rochefort, the cardinal's disguised Capuchin, in Brussels and tricked Monsieur de Laigues. Aramis explains the story and Porthos agrees to discuss it further.
Porthos praises Aramis' wit and apologies for not pursuing first love, but he insists he will become a king someday. Porthos, a Musketeer, tries to avoid anger with Athos, stating he's too vain to be a Musketeer. He threatens to become an abbé and declares he tyres him.
