Résumé

A school reunion goes horribly wrong... A superb classic crime novel from a master of the genre.'Compton has been one of Britain's most original and consistent novelists since the late Sixties, but he has never received the attention he deserves... Compton's prose is fine-tuned, his human insights sharp, and his narrative pace filled with the weird synchronicities and dissonances of how violent things usually happen' INDEPENDENTHating his brother and bitter not having attended a private school, Boyce is planning to impersonate his brother at the school's centenary celebration.
Unfortunately, Boyce did not know his brother's best friend, Ben Anderson, and mystery writer and would-be detective, is also going to the event. And after Anderson arrives for the celebration, two deaths occur at the school...

À propos des auteurs

David Guy Compton was born in 1930 in London. The son of an actor and actress, he was brought up by his Scottish grandmother, recently returned from India. Compton wrote numerous novels in both the crime and sf genres. His first book was published in 1962, the now classic crime novel TOO MANY MURDERERS. D G Compton (1930-2023)David Guy Compton was born in London in 1930. His early works were crime novels published under 'Guy Compton', but he began producing SF as 'D.
G. Compton' in 1965 with The Quality of Mercy. His 1970 novel The Steel Crocodile received a Nebula nomination, but it was 1974's The Continuous Catherine Mortenhoe that made his reputation. Eerily predictive of the 21st century's obsessions with media voyeurism and 'reality television', it was filmed as Death Watch in 1980.
