Christmas has finally come to Longbourn, but Elizabeth Bennet's year has been anything but celebratory. Now that her elder sister Jane is engaged, Mrs. Bennet is understandably worried about Elizabeth's unwillingness to accept proposals from no less than two worthy gentlemen. As she stares into the fire on Christmas Eve, a wish is formed in her heart, one that seems too impossible to believe, but one that might yet be within her reach.
