Résumé

WE HUMANS are social animals. We spend most of our time relating to other people. Relationships are one of the most important things in our lives. And yet we rarely take the time to examine our relationships objectively and determine what they add to our lives. Do they enhance or detract? What makes the good relationships work? How can we ensure they continue to do so? Why do others detract? And, what can we do about it?Dr.
Robert Broenen, a psychologist, and his daughter, Dr. Mari Broenen, a university professor, explored the dynamics of interpersonal relating and created the Heart : Mind model--a simple and effective system for identifying, evaluating, understanding and optimizing your interactions with others. Additional free articles by Drs. Broenen are available at www. RealPsychSolutions.com. I was troubled by a couple of relationships for some time this year. Your tools for examination of these friendships were very helpful. The work you have done is worthwhile, practical and accessible. You presented the contact process so well with transact vs engage. I had become somewhat wary about engaging in the past but am becoming more open to it. Also on making my own choices rather than being 'chosen'." Judith Strupp Green, Anthropologist"A terrific book.
It's action-oriented, short enough that people will read it and has a light tone. I. am beginning to think maybe I'm not really too old for another self-help book. I've thought of several relationships that could use a tune-up and have acted on one so far." Warren Gibson, Professor"The book addresses many important issues in the process of establishing relationships in a hands-on, approachable way." Dale Novina, Executive Coach"I liked it.I think it's easy to re...
