Résumé

In this book, Mr. Letshego Mokeki, argues that the essence of the gospel is to be shaped according to the image, pattern, and likeness of God's Firstborn Son (Romans 8:29). He contends that this is God's original and only plan, i.e. to make an 'earthly being' who will reflect His image and likeness on the earth. He argues that believers have two callings - one to be and another to do (Genesis 1:26).
The first calling is to 'Be' like the pattern Son, Jesus Christ. The second is to 'Do' effectively, i.e., to have dominion, to rule, and to subdue. God desires that believers in the Lord Jesus would 'do' from the position of 'be-ing'. Becoming like Jesus must therefore become the primary pursuit for every believer. Letshego, argues that Jesus's seminal teaching on the Sermon on the Mount is the definitive 'seminar' on the culture of the kingdom of God and uses this to illustrate foundational truths about the culture of the Kingdom of God.
He gives insights into such treasures as the beatitudes, 'turn the other cheek', and a range of parables Jesus taught and shows how these are to be applied to everyday life. Lessons from this sermon and elsewhere are meant to cause the 'new creation' to live according to the culture and value system of the kingdom of God. He argues that the Christian difference is like salt, the seasoning influence that we are called upon to protect.
He argues that we as believers;Cannot influence the world we look like;Cannot change the world we will not engage;Cannot impact the world we are isolated from, and thatWe will undoubtedly fail to redeem the world we will not love. This book is a call for the people of God to know, embrace and live according to the culture of the Kingdom of God. He makes the point that when the Body of Christ comes to maturity, the most honoured amongst beleivers will be those most Christ-like, not the ones with the grandest title.
