The body of a woman who has been shot in the head is discovered in a small park in the centre of Ljubljana. A day later, a man dies in the same way in another part of the town. Are the murders connected? Ljubljana is sweltering in a heat wave, a new government is being set up in Slovenia after recent elections and, as if that is not enough, police inspector Taras Birsa is having a few troubles of his own.
