The Belt Stories is a series of three novels - Milky Way Tango, Milky Way Boogie, and Milky Way Gala, to be read in that order. It is a quest spanning the stars, motivated by young love. Just before high school graduation, Jimmy and Sarah become lovers. But they encounter a staggering stroke of bad luck, resulting in Jimmy's incarceration a thousand light years away. Sarah stays behind and tries to resurrect her life, but she cannot do it; for her, all roads lead to Jimmy.
And so lovers embark on a treacherous path across the stars in search of a reunion with each other. Their paths will be long, difficult, and dangerous and might result in the death of one or both.
