Once committed to giving it a "real" go she joined writers' groups, attended conferences and read every book on writing she could find. Eventually, romances and adventure stories gave way to science textbooks and research papers as she became a medical technologist, but her love for microscopes and test tubes didn't diminish her passion for storytelling.
