It was a bright and clear morning when Jeff Turner went out hunting. He had settled on a small plot of land along the Guadalupe River in Central Texas with his wife and kids. The homestead was small and simple, and for a time their life seemed idyllic. He had moved to Central Texas with his family in 1832, hoping for what most homesteaders hoped for. A simple life, where they could settle down and live out their years in peace and quiet.
A new life that would hopefully offer a sense of safety and stability for the small family. Unfortunately, they would get not get any of that.
