Résumé

Bermuda is the oldest self-governing overseas territory in the British Commonwealth. It is about 600 miles east of the nearest mainland, the USA's North Carolina, as it is not in the Caribbean but 900 miles north of it (U. S. Department of State, 2017). Its 1968 constitution provides the island with formal responsibility for internal self-government, while the British Government retains responsibility for external affairs, defense, and security (U.
S. Department of State, 2017). Everybody who visits Bermuda leaves with a "Bermuda story." Bermudians love a warm welcome and will go out of their way to help you feel at home here. You will hear "Good morning!" from everyone you meet. We took our horns to say "hello." It is part of who we are - gracious hosts who are proud of our island and love to show it off (Studyciuntry.com). Bermuda's culture uniquely blends African, Irish, Jamaican, Native American, Portuguese, Scottish, and Spanish-Caribbean cultures.
Bermudians are more conservative and concerned with good manners. The attire considered formal in the country is formal. Bermudians seem British in their customs, such as playing cricket, driving on the left, and having Queen Elizabeth II on their banknotes. At the same time, a solid North American cultural influence is evident: the currency is on par with the US Dollar. Bermuda's distinctive culture and Black heritage is a swirl of bright colors, rhythmic drums, and bold flavors.
60% of locals' ancestry is traced to the West Indies and West Africa. You can listen to local stories, support Black-owned businesses, and soak up Bermuda's one-of-a-kind culture (Studyciuntry.com).
