Bats as nocturnal flying mammals have developed echolocation, an efficient means of navigating in the dark. Although the acoustic signals they emit are not audible to humans, they can be recorded and analyzed with appropriate equipment and software. The author has acquired his unique knowledge and skills over more than three decades of continuous research on bat ultrasounds.
