Résumé

China has become the main adversary of the West. Is it really a threat to the United States ? Why is it considered a threat to NATO ? Is the spectre of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan a real threat or a pretext put forward by a declining West to neutralize its main competitor ? Based on intelligence files and official reports, Jacques Baud analyzes the situation of China in its regional and global context.
The book revisits the secret war that the West has been waging against China since the Cold War, the economic war unleashed by the Trump administration and joined by Europe, and the consequences of the CoViD crisis. It examines the consequences of an open conflict between China and Taiwan on the international order. Jacques Baud was a member of the Swiss strategic intelligence. A specialist in Eastern countries and head of UN peace operations doctrine, he was engaged in negotiations with the highest Russian military and intelligence officials just after the fall of the USSR.
Within NATO, he followed the 2014 Ukrainian crisis and then participated in assistance programs to Ukraine. Author of several books, including Governing by Fake News, The Navalny Affair, Putin : Master of the Game ? and Operation Z published by Max Milo.
