English For Translation

English for Translation is designed for people who need to acquire and practise translation skills. It is suitable for students in higher ou further education, trainee teachers, translators or interpreters. The emphasis is placed on translation practice - the hands-on approach- without neglecting the theory A wide range of translation areas are covered - business, the press, science and technology, literature, etc. - a great variety of material dealing with the many different types of text and problems encountered by the translator. English for Translation is also : - a key/corrigé which gives answers to all the exercices (providing suggested translations for all the translation passages) and elucidates certain points of difficulty. - A cassette of the " listening " activities in the book which are aimed principally at providing practice in consecutive translation.
