Cédric Babouche graduated from the Olivier de Serres Art School in Paris before taking the concept artist course from the Emile Cohl School with a specialisation in animation. His end-of-class project was his first animated mated film, the wonderfully poetic La Routine. His second animated short, Imago, would be the one that brought him into the spotlight, as it was selected for and won syards from over 130 festivals, including those of Annecy, Taipei, Madrid, and the "Semaine de la Critique" in Cannes.
A teacher of bande dessinée and animation at the Emile Cohl School, he joined visual effects company DEF2SHOOT as art director in charge of the animation department, then became a director and art director for production company DANDELOOO, for which he developed and directed series and movie projects, among them Chico Chico Bonmba for French TV station M6 and Little Houdini for France Télévisions.
In the meantime, he was also art director on Binards film Kona Yana Penguin. Add to this writing his first full-length feature film, Travel to Mama and publishing Swan Song... You may have noticed he's not fond of routine ! Xavier Dorison's first script, Le Troisième Testament, was met with immediate success. At age 25, with a brand-new business degree in his pocket, he began a career as a writer that could well make for one of his better stories.
From Sanctuary to Long John Silver and to W.E.S.T., cowritten with Fabian Nury and published by Cinebook as SPOOKS, Xavier Dodson established himself as one of the brightest of his generation. He never downplayed the importance of hard work, however. and though it seems that writing comes naturally to him, be is constantly learning, analysing, constructing, and understanding the rules of scriptwriting, all the better to shake them off.
As he says himself : "Before you can write like Kubrick, you have to be able to write direct-to-video stuff. In 2006 he co-authored the script of French film Les Brigades du Tigre and since then has been called in as a "script doctor" for numerous movies. Xavier Dorison has proven he is equally at ease with the "generic Hollywoodian product" genre and carefully crafted masterpieces that the best directors wouldn't disavow.
Emmanuel Herzet was born in 1973 in Frameries, Belgium. Now living near Namur, he teaches history and French in a junior high school. Eclectic in his tastes and activities, but always fascinated by the canvas of the past, he began writing scripts after publishing company Le Lombard introduced him to Piotr Kowalski in 2004. Together the two men made La Brauche Lincoln, the first brick of a promising career and a construction he is now steadily adding to through series series Narcos, Centaures, and the spin-off of popular series Alpha (Alpha —Premières armes), eventually writing for the main series itself — a genre he is completely at ease with, as there is nothing he likes more than geopolitical plots, the stories of the great families that rule us, revealing the truths behind the curtains.
And History, which he knows so well, still has plenty of material available for him to make us think and quake ! Consider swashbuckling series Duelliste, published by Le Lombard, for example, a return to his first love.
