Résumé

Following the funeral of a local farmer, the man's son tells Bruno that before his father's sudden death he'd signed over his property to an insurance company in return for a subscription to a luxury retirement home. Bruno's not convinced it's a criminal matter until he discovers that the retirement home and the insurance company are scams with links to a Russian oligarch. Meanwhile, the village's adopted aging British rock star decides to sell his home, Chateau Rock.
This prompts a family reunion, with his son bringing home a new girlfriend who is Russian and whose father happens to be the oligarch Bruno is investigating.

Biographie de Martin Walker

Martin Walker is a prize-winning journalist and the author of several acclaimed works of non-fiction, including The Cold War : A History. Martin and his family have had a home in the Périgord region of France since the 1990s and have become ever more connected to this gastronomic heartland of the country by friends and neighbours, dog and chickens, garden and countryside. Among their friends is the local village policeman (and Martin's tennis partner) who inspired the series of mystery novels based around Bruno, Chief of Police.
