The work presented here was written in 1745 ; it consists of three movements and stands out due to the skillful and interesting way the voices are led. Passages treated like a fugue alternate with imitatory ones. The material is treated in a variety of ways. The introductory Allegro di molto is followed by an Andante showing strong traits of galant and early classic music. The work is then finished by a lively Allegretto.
This issue has been carefully edited, figuring was marked, and a suggestion for the figured bass has been printed in small type which gives practised players a chance for improvisation. Instrumentation : flute, violin and basso continuo Wq 149
