Valerie, a young and naïve student, is twenty-one years old. She answers to a job ad to work as a secretary. Margaret, a single mature woman, is a famous writer and poetess ; her passion is to create extravagant hats. This passion gave her the nickname of "the Lady with the Hat". Margaret hired Valerie and the young girl is perfect for the job, she is the criterion of it for Margaret who is delighted to have her in her life, and that she will be her accomplice in her picaresque adventures.
