The busy work of Yann Andre Leroy from the Brennan Beer Gorman firm in New York is best exemplified in an approach to design immediately identifying the nature of the building to be constructed and its relations to context in the vert' first preliminary sketches. This French-born architect prefers to work on an urban scale for two main reasons: firstly, because Leroy's works slot neatly and confidently into the compressed spaces of a metropolitan fabric that is now tightly woven right across the globe; and secondly, because each design has such full and carefully-articulated spaces and functional sections to make it a complete urban complex in its own right.
