Ce sera un avis mitigé sur ce Stephen King. Je me suis une fois de plus retrouvée assez éloignée du King tel que je l'aimais, avec horreur, fantastique et véritable thriller.
Ici rien de tout cela, peut-être juste un petit polar.
Quant au road trip annoncé en 4e de couverture, si passer de motels en hôtels est la définition de road trip, bon ... alors ok.
Sur le 4e on nous annonce aussi "récit de guerre" et ça par contre il y en a, mais c'est tellement long, et pour moi cela m'a paru surtout sans aucun intérêt, sauf à ajouter des pages.
En parlant de pages, il m'a fallu
en passer plusieurs centaines avant de ressentir un petit effet suspense.
J'ai aimé les quelques références à "Shining" celui-ci étant parmi mes préférés de l'auteur, sinon j'y ai trouvé quelques répétitions et des faits un peu trop prévisibles.
Si vous ne connaissez pas le Stephen King des débuts ce livre peut alors être un roman plaisant, et certains l'ont beaucoup apprécié.
Un tueur sur le fil
Voilà un Stephen King qui sort de ses écrits habituels, là nous sommes sur un roman, pas de fantômes, pas de terreur, Billy est un tueur à gages professionnel missionné pour abattre "un méchant", ce sera sa dernière mission avant sa retraite. Mais pour Billy rien ne va se dérouler comme prévu, obligé de fuir il rencontra une jeune fille perdue à qui il sauve la vie. Commence alors une traque pour le couple et découvrir qui a mis la tête de Billy a prix et pourquoi. Un nouveau style chez Stephen King, après le polar avec la trilogie de Mr Mercédès, c'est sur un vrai roman et une très belle découverte.
