Index Nominum 2000 is the international reference guide to active substances, their synonyms, chemical structures and formulas, the medications prepared from them, and their manufacturers. The 17th edition has been completely revised and restructured and now has a brand-new, improved layout. 5363 active substances and their derivatives (287 more than before) are grouped together in monographs in a separate section. The chemical structure is given for each substance. The clear new layout and visual aids give the user all the essentials at first glance. New in this edition : each active substances German, French, Spanish and Latin names, ATC code (anatomical therapeutical chemical classification) and molecular mass are included. The single-compound preparations for human use from 133 countries were evaluated. This information is complete for 31 of these countries (up from 19 in the previous edition) and is given in part for another 102 (84 more than in the last edition). The main index now contains 41,809 proprietary names (previously 30,141) and 12,800 synonyms. An additional index gives ATC codes for all the active substances. The addresses of 9704 pharmaceutical manufacturers (formerly 4000 addresses) are listed. Les monographies ont été rassemblées séparément et englobent maintenant 5363 dérivés et substances actives (287 de plus qu'avant). Toutes les substances sont accompagnées par leur formule chimique. Une disposition claire et des aides visuelles permettent un rapide aperçu. Pour la première fois, chaque substance active est présentée avec les noms allemand, latin, espagnol et français, avec le code ATC (Anatomical Therapeutical Chemical) et avec la masse moléculaire. Les préparations contenant un seul principe actif utilisées en médecine humaine ont été décrites intégralement pour 31 pays (jusqu'ici 19).102 autres pays (jusqu'ici 18) ont été couverts partiellement. Au total, 133 pays ont été traités. Le répertoire contient 41809 noms de marques (jusqu'à maintenant 30141) et 12800 synonymes. Le répertoire du principe actif/code ATC présente une précieuse aide de recherche. La partie sur l'industrie contient 9704 (jusqu'à maintenant 4000) adresses d'entreprises pharmaceutiques.
